Bargaining Teams Provide Proposals To Stats Can Management
On Wednesday February 15th and Thursday February 16th our Bargaining Teams for both the Field Interviewer (FI) and Regional Office (RO) bargaining units met with representatives for Stats Can in Ottawa to exchange proposals and commence negotiations for a new collective agreement. We indicated to Stats Can that our bargaining teams have been given a clear mandate from our membership to bargain fair collective agreements, ones that bring working conditions for PSAC members working in both in the field and in regional offices in line with other federal unionized workers. Recently our union has made great strides in terms of winning rights and protections for part-time, seasonal and other workers that have not traditionally been guaranteed hours of work.
Now it is our turn.
From seniority rights in the context of scheduling, to enhanced job security to ensuring that field interviewers get the clothing and office equipment that is needed to perform field interviewer work, our proposals are geared towards ensuring that we as PSAC members working in Statistical Survey Operations achieve the same protections and rights as other unionized workers in the federal public sector.
Our bargaining proposals and those of the Employer will be posted shortly on the PSAC website. If you have any questions or concerns contact a member of our national bargaining teams.
Our RO Bargaining team consists of Eastern Representative Diane Labrecque, Central Representative Réjean Amyotte and Western Representative Anna Goldfeld.
Our FI Bargaining Team consists of Eastern Representative Geraldine Fortin, Central Representatives Mary Anne Walker, Shelly Daudlin and Western Representative Sharon Hazelwood.
We'll be sure to update as things progress. If you have any questions contact a member of our bargaining team, or go to www.psac-afpc.com.
